Community and family services

The Salvation Army staff member meeting with a community member at a table in a community room, discussing support and family services in a welcoming environment.

Our purpose

The Salvation Army Comox Valley Ministries believes that the spiritual needs of each person are inseparable from their physical ones. Our faith in Jesus Christ compels us to serve the community in a practical and prayerful way. We demonstrate the love and care of Jesus Christ in recognizing individual dignity.

Soup Kitchen Ministry

We partner with other churches in the Local Soup Kitchen. The Salvation Army provides meals to the community in need on Tuesdays. We serve over a hundred nutritional meals giving hope and sustenance to our less fortunate friends. We provide a prayer room and caring people during this meal for individuals to receive spiritual care.

Emergency Services

In times of disaster or emergency, Comox Valley is equipped to respond. We use trained volunteers to mobilize our emergency feeding vehicle, provide spiritual and emotional care, to meet and greet at on-site locations and to provide overall care for the hurting.
