Doing Life Together

Life groups

Life groups are a place to connect with Jesus, journey together and serve others.  We invite you to join a weekly life group where your life will be transformed and be used to transform those around you.

HUBS

A “HUB” is two or three people that gather together weekly to check in with each other. They use specific formats/questions to connect on a meaningful level that develops accountability, vulnerabilty and much spiritual growth.

FIT groups

A “HUB” is two or three people that gather together weekly to check in with each other. They use specific formats/questions to connect on a meaningful level that develops accountability, vulnerabilty and much spiritual growth.

What do worship gatherings look like?

Our worship gatherings are a time for the entire church family to come together, sing praises, hear uplifting messages, and connect with God and one another. Services typically include contemporary worship music, scripture readings, prayer, and a powerful sermon that speaks to real-life challenges. Whether you're new to church or have been attending for years, you'll find a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Senior’s Ministries

Come on board to visit our local seniors, bringing them joy, Christ’s love and needed friendship. You will be blessed more than you can imagine as you reach out to God’s older children of the community.

The men of our church meet regularly to study the word, are engaged in HUBS and work together to serve in various capacities such as worship leading and the Soup Kitchen. Men also attend camp once a year.

Children’s Ministry

Youth Ministry

TSA Youth

Our hope and mission is to reach every youth in the Valley and invest in them allowing them to succeed and reach their full potential.

Youth Group is a place where youth are able to relax, be themselves and have fun, in a safe environment with youth leaders committed to investing into them in a genuine and holistic way in so that they are able to have those supports around them and succeed. We have a schedule full of activities catered to what the teens like and enjoy. Our hope is to build youth up and eventually have them join us in serving the community.

We will also be running a variety of one-off programs throughout the year at the LinC Drop-In Centre.

BRAVE Girls

Girls, aged 9 -18, Brave Jr. 9-12yrs and Brave Sr. 13-18, are invited to attend a weekly GIRLS ONLY group. This is a time to have fun, make friends and experience a lot of crazy stuff. This program includes a nation-wide yearly one-day event called “Brave!” At BRAVE girls are highly engaged in a day designed to encourage, empower and celebrate them.

Who we are
The Salvation Army Comox Valley Community Church is committed to be a church that seeks to know Christ better – through worship, bible study, and fellowship and to make Christ better known through caring outreach to our community.

What our church is like

You will find our church warm and welcoming with an informal atmosphere. Our contemporary praise band leads the congregation in uplifting worship. Simply observe or participate as you choose.

Children are excused part way through the service to an interactive Junior Church (ages 4-11).  The experience and teaching is based on the ORANGE curriculum which seeks to combine the love of the home with the light of the church!

Worship
People were created to worship. From celebration to prayerful reflection, our worship leaders and musicians share their gifts in a way that focuses our hearts on the goodness of God. This is part of corporately preparing our hearts for the hearing of the Word, and allowing us the space to respond to it.

Coffee & community
Because we value relationships, we have a time of coffee and goodies following the service. Please stay and let us get to know you.

Message
Jesus is the centre of everything we do at Comox Valley Community Church. His sacrifice and resurrection offers new life to those who believe and follow him. For this reason, we preach the Bible because it is how God speaks most clearly to us. Each week we explore how the message of Jesus transforms our lives.

Mission
As we finish our time together on Sunday, we head out with an understanding that God calls us to engage with our neighbours and community by expressing the hope, love, and grace that we have found in him. We believe that we are taught and empowered to do this through a relationship with The Holy Spirit. We encourage everyone to join a small group that will foster discipleship, evangelism and service.

Where we meet
Our weekly church services are held from 10:30am – 11:30am at Cornerstone Community and Family Services, 9-468 29th St, Courtenay. Life Groups and other weekly meetings are held throughout the community and/or Cornerstone Community & Family Services.
